"Alpha
is a safe place to thrash out the
meaning of
life; to discuss what Christianity really is all about. I'd
highly
recommend this course for anyone who wants good food and good
conversation."

"What
distinguishes Alpha from other initiatives is the easy-going, relaxed
feel of the proceedings - that, and its astonishing success."
The Times

Alpha
consists of a
series of talks and discussions about key issues relating to the
Christian faith.
St. Mary's runs the course regularly to give people - non-Christians
and Christians alike - the
opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about what we
believe. The
course takes place in a variety of venues and usually
involves snacks/desserts and coffee, short talks and then an
opportunity for informal discussion as whole group and in small groups.
Some of the topics covered include: 'Christianity - Boring, Untrue and
Irrelevant?', 'Does God Heal?' and 'Why Did Jesus Die?'...
Check
back to this page often as we update it with the details of where and
when we are running our current Alphas...

| Youth Alpha |
 |
We run Youth Alpha as part of our ignite
program for 11-16 year olds.
Youth Alpha is a brilliant way of allowing young people to explore what
being a Christian is all about in a relaxed, fun way, involving lots of
discussion, watching films, playing games and plenty of pizza along the
way. We are not running Youth Alpha this term, but if you think it's
for you why not try out one of our other similar ignite groups... |
